I designed a logo for a well know towing company here (there trucks are awesome and he is very well known). I went to see him and he was thrilled with the design.
I'm using Corel 9 and parts of the design include a flag waving through the letters. I achieved this look by taking a flag from Corel clipart, distorting it so it has a wave effect, then powerclipped it into the text. Another part of the design has some vertical red bars (a Corel pattern) inside a panel.
Here's where I run into problems, I convert everything to curves and export to AI, but when I import into my sign program, (VMP) the whole flag appears, not inside the text like it should, and the vertical bar pattern doesn't come with the design.
Any insight on this?
I can post the design if you need.
Thanks, Tony

Not to sure what is happening but you could also convert you file into a bitmap as you designed it after power clipping it then do a trace conversion for the plot file. Im not sure if you can get a reconstructed vector outline just because you use the power clip feature.

Tony if the clipart was a vector file then instead of powerclip i would use the trim tool and then you will have only the lines inside the text left. if it is a bitmap you are in a different area altogether.

Thanks for the replies. What I did was to take the flag clipart , convert to curves, then export that into my sign prog, then trim it into the letters. I got it all together now.
