Need a little educating.

My customer is renting a billboard 10' x 32'. Has his heart set on a digatally printed sign on vinyl.

I usually work in vinyl or hand painted.

This would be a photo of his Inn covering 40% of the billboard and name and etc. covering 60%.

What about longevity? Any special tips on applying? The background is plywood. I plan to add a layer of maybe 3/8" MDO if I paint...should I do the same for the vinyl too?

How much cost? Who does this kind of printing and how do I contact them?

Any information is more than I have and will be much apprieciated.

Thanks,
Sue

Unless you have access to one o them NUR billboard printers, you'd have to panel it with an inkjet print.......BIG BUX!

Try SignPoint in Indiana. They have done some printed banners for me that I was really happy with. I know that they have one of those 16' wide printers. Ask for Barb Oliver and tell her that I referred you.

Sue,

If this is goin on an existing billboard, a "borard bag" type will suit your needs. They slip over like a big fitted sheet and then cinch tight. Great system. Post Graphics in Bennington, VT can do this for you.

Have a great one!

What you want is commonly called a digital stretch face in the outdoor trade. Alot of companies can print these, usually for less than $3 a sq ft. They require that you install the banner over an existing signface and wood has to be even and stable or you will get wrinkles and what not if the face is not flat and stable,...(no warped or lose panels). You'll need some sort of stretching system to install it either conduit or fiberglass rods to fit in the pipe pockets usually fabbed into the edges amd racthet straps to stretch it tight. If you are not familiar with outdoor advertising and working with heights I would advise subbing this out to a pro as working on a billboard is not the place you want to learn while doing as it can be dangerous.

Sue,

I use Outdoor America in Clearwater, FL. Their prices are good and the people are nice.

On the web OUTDOOR AMERICA

Keep in mind that some that big will most likely be seamed together but from a distance you'll never know it!
