I just finished watching the weekend addition of access hollywood.

They featured a make-up artist dolling up the hollywood movie types with AIRBRUSHED MAKE-UP!

Holy Cow that chick can paint. took ten years off that lady in 15 minutes, and only had to guarantee the sign...ahem...face for 8 hrs.

She'll also sell ya the set-up for $450 bucks. Guys, if this sweeps the nation, I know where a spare AWATA will be. Just better remember to clean it afterwards. Now I'm thinking of opening a new type of beauty school.

See something new everyday.

I got excited about airbrushed nails when I first heard of it. Then I discovered that in Michigan, you have to have a cosmetology license to do that stuff. I'm sure the same goes for makeup.

Hey Mike,

That's how I make my living man! Been airbrushing faces and bodies for 8 years now. The lady you probably saw was Dinah Ousley of Dinair makeup, good stuff. We've done the face painting version of what you saw at theme parks and festivals all over, and you don't have to spend the $450 if you already have an airbrush and compressor all you need is the makeup. It already has been/is sweeping the nation and it's a great way to make extra cash. The only limitaion is you have to LOVE working with the public and if you do it for pay, I strongly reccomend raising your liability insurance.

Anyone who has questions or wants to find out more about this stuff you can find info and links at my website www.peoplepainters.com .

~Rich

PS. Edna's totally right, they've been airbrushing skin in Hollywierd for decades. Almost all the makeup on Star Trek, Baylon 5 etc. is airbushed. Al Gore tried to get an airbrush makeup artist for his entourage (too bad he didn't have one for that first debate!) Apparently George Bush likes the airbrush makeup for the natural look as well.

I have been experimenting with airbrushed makeup for our school productions for the last two years. It only takes seconds to spray a face white. My daughter was an evil snow queen, and we sprayed a fade from dark blue around her hairline to white on her face. It was so cool to spray their hair whatever color we needed. I'd post pics, but I don't know how! (Yet) We used the liquid face makeup and thinned it with water.

Yes, LE is correct as they have been doing that for decades.
Another step is Tattooing! coloring age spots and other cosmetic features are done by some tattoo artists. Shotsie Gorman of Tattoo ? has a real life tattoo cosmetologist that has been working from his New Jersey studio for years.
Is it time now to get out the ol' tattoo machine and add some color for a new face?

Well, everyone keeps saying that you have to keep up with the times in this biz. I'm not talented with an air brush but maybe a few of us "vinyl stickers" can come up with a design for patterns to create instant face lifts to be applied before the air brushed makeup! I'll be the first guinnea pig. Maybe we can use sandblast for derma brasion too! How about high tack mask for unwanted hair removal, low tack for face peels? Then the airbrush will be the finishing touch.
Oops! Gotta go, I'm working on a template for a fanny lift and a tummy tuck. Will post before & after pics pics as soon as I find a willing model.
