Well I took some time today to take pictures of some of our storage space. Believe me there is a lot more! (Everyone thought I was loopy, snapping pictures everywhere.) They were all camera shy though. http://www.comsign.ca/storage.htm I guess we are storage nuts!. We need to be organized though as we need to make room for big jobs in a fairly small shop (4800 sq.ft.) plus mezzanine. On top of what you see, we have a 4'x8' router table, a 12'x16' spray booth, construction shop, and screen shop. As well we run the Canadian Distribution for Standoff Systems set up on our mezzanine. At night we have room to bring in our bucket van and 1/2 ton too. We've been at this location 11 years. Randall our summer student help(for 4 years) has done most of the construction projects.
Everyone tells you not to lay vinyl rolls down, and I myself store most of them upright, but I did work in a shop once that had all the vinyl stacked under the work table about 6 or 8 deep, and I never saw one bit of damage to any of the rolls, The only thing I found was some of the ones on the bottom that had been there for ten years or so were loosing some of their adhesive ability. Now I wouldn't store magnetic or sandblast stencil like that, but you gotta wonder about the vinyl. I think alot of people have been fooled into thinking they gotta have those wire racks sticking out at 90 degrees.

I don't know, but that desk looks pretty neat to me.... What a perfect shop! I used to have a boss who was just as organized as you - unfortunately he didn't influence me at all.
