I'm working on a network that has an HP Designjet 3800CP running via a Fiery rip. At the moment I have the rip box connected via serial cable to one of the machines on the network because I can't for the life of me get it to appear on the network. Rips aren't my sepciality so I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with these particular units. I didn't think to jot down the model of the Fiery but that will be noted tomorrow.
At the moment I have: Rebooted the Fiery Checked that the IP address and subnet mask are unique and consistent with the rest of the network. Checked the physical cabling and hub by swapping them with cables/ports known to be ok.
The rip is just out of warrantee (of course) but has been replaced under warrantee once and serviced under warrantee once. Anyone know of these units? Are they prone to problems? TIA, David
