I'm painting detail on a concrete garden elf. (Face only)
It's mounted on a shed and is facing south. Do I need to prep it with something before I paint it? What's the best kind of paint to use. I get some unusual jobs in my shop, but never a garden elf.

I see you are in california so this may or may not be of help to you.The best paint for exterior concrete is concrete stain,it's a lacquer that is sprayed half thinner half stain the first coupla coats to soak in then a full bodied coat on top of those for coverage.oil based bulletin enamels will work great on top of that.
hope this helps ya!
