I have a Mustek 600 III Plus, wasn't a high dollar piece but has always worked good for me, until now.

I went to Windows XP last Feb. and had to get new drivers for it to work, and it worked fine after that.

A few months ago I had to reformat and somewhere in saving stuff I failed to save the XP driver for it. I havn't used the scanner since. I tried to use it the other day and it would not work, so I hunted for the driver on a couple of CD's I burned before the format... no dice, so, I go to their website and download the driver for my scanner for XP.

I start to install it and right in the middle it stops and say's
"Insert 2nd Disk" THERE WASN"T A FIRST DISK, let alone a second.
I have cleared out every old file that I can find or think of and tried over and over to install the new driver.

I e-mailed Mustek service but have not gotten a reply as of yet. I have a buddy coming over Sat. night to work on some decals for our boat club and I need to scan in 2 drawings for the decals.
See my other post.

Sorry to be so long, but I wanted to give enough info to get some help.

ANY IDEA'S ????????????????

Thanks in Advance.

Troy

Troy,

Sometimes when you download drivers they will self extract and make the folders which represent the different disks. See what happens when you double-click on that file you downloaded and pay attention to where it is putting the extracted stuff (if that's what it does!)

Just a thought! [Big Grin]

Troy;

I think your scanner problem is related to bad karma. Retired? Boat Club...

Hey, Troy,

I gotta know. Did Amy's suggestion work?

I've got the same scanner and the same problem but finally discovered a workaround.

I scan from "Imaging" (the little Kodak program that you install to view your pictures when they put them on a CD for you).

Let us know, I would love to be able to just scan from Corel 7 again.

Jim,
If peoples Karma caused thier machines not work, I can't see how anything you own would work.
And for that matter what does being retired and a "Remote Control"boat club have to do with a scanner problem????

I guess if you are retired/disabled you should just check into a nursing home and look at four walls till you "check-out"....geezzz

Am I the only one to notice that certain people only post when they can cause a problem or start something just to get things/people going.

Sue,
I don't know what I did but I went thru and deleted every file I could find again, and then re-downloaded the drivers from Mustek and everything is working now, I can even scan from Vinyl Express Master and Corel 8. Hope this helps you out.

Troy
