Still playing around with ideas in my head...... However this could prove to be dangerous.....Considering some of the thoughts that wander around in there......."SCARE MYSELF SOMETIME" he he he.....

I have the book matched tiger maple attached to the south american black walnut backpanel....raised about 1/4". I have the paduk veneer (red) glued to the tiger maple and in a very bold font, carved the word JAM with beveled edges (the edges show the tiger maple and it really "flashes"). Now I have the tiger maple veneer glued to a paduk veneer over black walnut and I have the letterville logo traced out and cut out......should be cool....flashy tiger maple face with a red outline and black walnut drop shadow.....beveled, of course. Then all I have to do is carve my "signature" sword striper in black walnut so that the handle is in the dark hartwood and the hairs are in the tan sapwood, guild the wraps and put it together.
Three woods, 2 words, small guild......is it ok that I didn't use any paint? (I did use tons of clear.)
Did I spell veneer right?
I'm gonna have it in Atlantic City if anyone wants a sneek preview......I hope
I know this all sounds confusing....

I haven't done a damn thing---sketched out a few sucky ideas, but nothing inspiring yet. My person never posted any likes, I'm flying blind on this one -- they may have to settle for a home-made book on making 'Antique' Signs.
Uh...this is due in a couple years, right?

I guess I am a lot like these other folks. I haven't done much with it, but I do know exactly what I am going to do. I haven't had a lot of time, considering I have a truck that has had my attention for the last month...
I am shooting for the truck to be done this weekend, and I will get to work on the panel...
My panel will be fiberglass, so I hope that UPS doesn't throw it around too much .

OH MAN ... good thing ya reminded me haha I had ideas ... then I saw my victim's name and another idea just popped and yanked me in a completely different direction... a wierd direction I haven't really been. I'm having a bunch of fun with it ... do a little here, little there when I get time ... progress is physical at this point though

I have it on paper. I'm doing it the old way roughing it out with charcoal as a full size pattern first, then refining things with pencils and erasers....no computer....I have collected the materials for the panel and will be painting this one by hand....also some sandblasting going on, as well as some pictorial-type stuff.I guess you could say its UNPLUGGED (Okay, Victor?)
I look at it and say to myself..WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? I have set a goal to have it done by early December because I worry alot about not getting it done on time.

IT IS DESIGNED. That's about it so far. I will probably change it 17 more times before it is done.

I really thought this panel exchange was a good idea... til I got the name of who gets mine!! Now I am so gosh darn intimidated, I'm SCARED to even think about what to do, let alone start it!!
But, somehow, I will do this and survive. I just don't know about the person getting the panel...

I know there are many too talented letterheads out there! It's been a long time since I've really painted and that is limited. I think my victim has a sense of humor and is sensitive to my beginner's skills. Also, gee, I keep changing my mind too on ideas!

I had no idea that painting was required!...I got a sneak preview of Pat King plaque and yes...it reflects his painting expertise but I can't paint worth a darn...YET!...so...I guess I will just have to get some paint and splatter it on and call it ART !

I didn't remember any mention of media, whether it be paint, vinyl, smaltz, crayon, wood, the sky is probably the limit! We are all birds of different feathers, oh, feathers! Now I am giving mine away!

I'm still in the planning stages... - which means I've done a bunch of sketches but I'm not happy with anything yet. So, basically, nothing done.

I guess I got lucky- I know the person I'm doing a panel for, and he's EASY to figure. Not only that, but I've been working on a design for a client that, with a little tweaking, will be perfect. Maybe I can even upsell the client with the finished panel before I send it!

Started mine, if you saw the article in SignCraft about the pinstriped bike panels in 2000, well it's one of those panels. I had a few left over from the Bull and Brush meet. Got A USA flag background with a nice eagle on the bike tank. This panel has to fly thousands of miles Cheers Terry
