Anyone have the capability of taking a logo sent via e-mail from a customer and loading it into your sign software for cutting? If yes, please elaborate. Thanks.

only my graphic-smart customers can do that! as long as the file is vectorized then i can import and make it the size they need no problem. i use omega 1.56. my average customers only know how to send a jpeg but if you're dealing with a graphic savy person and explain to them that you need it vectorized(line drawing) then it's a cake job. is that what you were asking???

Yes, I can, as long as the attachment has a filter extension which is recognized by my software; such as .eps, .ai, or .cmx to name a few. It could also have been sent as a .zip file. This is a file compression which allows faster transfers. If that's the case, then you'd need a program like "Winzip" to open the file.
Anyway, I see you're with AOL. If you know the directory where AOL stores your attached files, look there for the file. It might have a name like "My Downloads" or something to that nature. Write down the path to that directory. (The full path should be visible somewhere in explorer; but you can follow the path to sub-directories if you have to.) You'll need it when you import the file.
<EDIT> If you only have 1 hard-drive, I think the default dir is: "c:\america_online\downloads" but I'm not sure. Had to find this a couple months ago for someone else but don't remember exactly. </EDIT>
OK now, from within your sign software, look for the "Import" or "Place" command. This should open a dialog box where you can look for the directory & also specify file type to import. The file might open if you choose the "all files" option. Once you find the file & click on OK, it should open.
That's about all I can tell ya. Good luck.

Adobe Illustrator can read and write PDF files so you could plot them directly from this software.
The guy which create the PDF must care : • to place vector files and not bitmap files for logo and pictures. • to embed the Truetype or Postscript font in the PDF (this in an option in the PDFwriter).
The output resolution is not important here as far your goal is to cut the vectors. So Reduce it to reduce the size of the tumbnail into the file.
I keep at your disposal for turther info.
