i just got a call from a customer. i'd painted an 8 inch wide purple stripe on her shop windows about a month ago, and used Deka waterbased sign enamel. it rained last night (first major rain since the job was done) and she said the paint was bubbling and wrinkling.

I know that Deka isn't being sold any more, but i'm just wondering if anybody has any thoughts on the failure? it was a very hot day when i applied the paint, and i used some Floetrol to thin it out and help it level. The windows were washed with BonAmi AND with RapidPrep.

I'll do the repaint with 1-shot... but i'm just curious.

Hey,
I have no idea about Deka water based...but have used Deka transparent lacquers for years...Deka, a German co., stopped importing to the States altogether because of some BS about importing flamable liquids and, as a result, none of us can get ANY of their fine products. I've found none that compare and have resorted to buying Deka from Australia and then shipping here to get it...It's ridiculous and expensive! Just another lucky break for us!

Good luck,
Starr
