I'm about to do my first backlit sign. Will 2 color prismatic lettering work? This will be an interior sign. Do I put the translucent vinyl on the outside or cut in reverse & put inside?

Typically a backlit sign is done on a translucent white face (plexiglas etc.)in which case you would apply vinyl to surface.
I guess a window could be considered a "backlit sign" from the inside by day & the outside by night with the lights on.
If your signface is clear for one reason or another then I guess you would have the option of applying vinyl in reverse, but you would need a white or "frosted" backing as a diffuser so you don't see the actual light source or "hot spots" where the bulbs are located.

It', not my expertise at all, but personally I believe vinyl outside with translucent vinyl , paint inside with griflex or like paint. The vinyl look great with an outside application, and painting the inside requires just and even coat and no worry on the quality of finish.
