I caught this one this summer just a stones throw from where I live, It is a 898 pound Bluefin Tuna, it took just over 1 hour to land. Actually I never caught it at all, that's my freind Rob, he's the one who actually caught it, thrill of a lifetime. The fish was immediatly Cleaned, packed on Ice and shipped to Japan where it sold for, get this, almost $10,000 and that was only because the market was soft at the time, these fish have been known to sell for up to $20,000 each. The record bluefin tuna off our waters was 1,200 pounds.

Richard that looks like the bait that we caught the Tuna on..Lol. All the same that's a great bass and even a nicer Photo. You know we don't have any other type of fish in our freshwater lakes and rivers besides Trout, steelhead and atlantic Salmon, and I've heard that Bass are a hoot to catch.

tuna is not a "sport fish", marlin are, the record one caught this year was somewhere in 850 lb range. ian sure the auzzie even have bigger ones.....and if you really want a sport fish....come to south fla and fish for snook, biggest i ever landed(notice i said landed) was 42" and 22 lb. ive hooked bigger...but they just destroyed my reels. the auzzies have the same fish they call it a barimundi.

Old Paint can you imagine hooking an 850 pound marlin, now that would be awsome, but I know the average marlin is around 200-300lbs. the average bluefin tuna is 800lbs, and if you don't think that's A Sports Fish well.... What do Marlin taste like? or is it strictly a sport fish.

i think marlin is eatable.....never ate it myself....but snook cant be boutght in a can....and it some fine eatin....for a white meat fish. as for marlin or tuna, the piont i was makin with the snook, is ive never seen a snook landed over 50-60 lb. these fish are the most awesome sport fish.
