Hiya Marty, I beleive 1 Shot makes an edge sealing pen. I have a couple at work & I use it for sealing the edges of outdoor digital prints to pvc without a problem. If no one else replies by Monday, I'll check my stock to make sure.

Marty, I recently did a 2002 Ford Excursion, with 6 yds. of SignGold. I sealed it with the Seal-It pen by One Shot. I talked to several people about the need to seal the edges and many said that they did not seal the edges on SignGold even on boats. But SignGold reccommends it. Judy

Marty... Yes, you really need to edge-seal the SignGold. I want to clarify that you only seal the edges. (I've had several people try to seal the entire surface..which turns into a mess...) The easiest way to edge seal is with a Seal-It pen (www.sealitpen.com). These are available at most sign supply houses. Ti Cote and Frog Juice aren't the solution. SignGold currently suggests the use of 1Shot 4005 clear..available through your sign supply house as well. (Here's the thing..it's 1Shot 4005 in the SealIt pens..so.....). SignGold's warrantee is going to depend on edge-sealing, so regardless of the fact that there are indeed SignGold jobs out there WITHOUT edge-sealing, it's required for the warrantee. If you have any other questions, (I have been working very closely with SignGold for about 4 years now), contact me at: thebrush@rochester.rr.com. You can always refer to the "tech" section of SignGold's website as well (www.SignGold.com).

I'm with Brian the Brush on this one. 1-Shot UV Clear. Although I use a small quill as I don't like the pen very much. Plus if you buy a can of the clear you will have enough to edge seal a lot.

Thanks all for your replies. Any thoughts on using Pellucid as an edge sealer? I already have that in stock and would like to avoid having to purchase an entire quart of OneShot Clear when I only need several ounces.

Marty... I don't know, what Pellucid is , in all honesty. I do know that the 1Shot 4005 clear is what the current SignGold instructions call for. The Seal It pens are only like 7 or 8 bucks...and for that matter, a quart of 1Shot 4005 is relatively inexpensive as well.
I'd play it safe if I wuz you... Brian The Brush
