I just recently got a job for 15 18x24 black chloroplast signs with calendered gold lettering. I charged $15 each plus a $45 typesetting fee......sound about right???
I think i might have been a little low on these but i need the cash!

I would get between $22 and $28 each for these with out any type of "typesetting" charge. If they had a extra heavy amount of small letters or a logo I would probally add an extra 10-15% to that, plus artwork charges for the logo if I didn't already have it on hand.

If your competing against any screenprinters you are probably right on. I'd be charging $17.50 each for a dozen and $10.50 each on 25. Plus about $25 for films.

I dunno, depends how long it takes you to do them...2 hours or 6 hours? 1 sided, 2 sides? Can you buy 18"x24" black coroplast blanks in your area or do you have to cut them down from a 4'x8' sheet? Are they directional signs, sponsor signs or are they used for advertising? I use Estimate for pricing but also consider who the purchaser is and what they use the signs for.

The signs are sort of like a golf outing , multiple sponsors only its for a bridal expo. Im thinkin i shoulda charged more since tommy hilfiger and kaufmanns are both on the list. Oh well the jobs begun now. Well chargem more next year!

This is what I came up with using my trusty EstiMate program.....

24"x18" Coroplast (colored)
Lettered on 1 side
Oracal 651 vinyl
50% coverage with lettering/logo

Expenses
Material - $46.33
Design Time (30 minutes) - $22.82
Labor/Overhead - $81.22
Total $150.37

Profits
Material Markup - $46.33
Quantity Discount (assumes that all signs read the same - -$23.17
Labor Profits - $34.64
Total $58.16

Total Sale Price - $208.53 or $13.902 each

Labor Time allowed for this job....
Design/Office .... 33 minutes
Production Time .. 1hr. 57mins.

If each sign read differently and was straight text (no logos), delete the Quantity Discount.

Warning: A well designed sign may cause fatigue due to increased business.

I came up with $20.86 Canadian using Estimate, very close to Glenn's amount...
if you convert the currency.... Estimate is the best!

I do these all the time, 1 sided, pre-cut coroplast, one color lettering, one font style, limit of 4 words, $18.00 ea. Material cost ea., $1.00. Labor, ea., 15 minutes (20 minutes including the time with the customer). Only time I'd discount this is if it were over 24, then I'd screenprint them.
