I subscribed to Art Today. I never know whether what I download in the clip art is going to be something I can cut with little or no editing. Is there any way to filter through?

Hi Penny,

Not all images Art Today has are vector format. If it gives you the option to download in different formats .wmf .eps are cuttable vector where .tif, .jpg are rastor (bitmap) files and would first have to be traced before you could cut them.

Penny,

Also beware of non-cuttable vector art. Some of these vector files take alot of finess to make 'em work.

I really enjoy rolanddga.com/vectorstore to buy "cut ready" art, only a buck each!

The EPS files in ArtToday are usually (always?) just "EPSized" WMF files.
No real Bezier curves (vectors) but only a lot of points with straight lines in beetween.
There are no sign ready files in Arttday! All the Arttoday files I used needed a lot of redraw.
In Freehand, I have a function "simplify" which help a lot in the process.
