I do some internal design work for a fairly large company. Most of the things I do are printed posters and displays (flat). A project that was given to me would look sharp with some 3D titles above it.
I would need about 4" high Helvetica or Arial letters with a satin or brushed metalic look.

Where is a good source for this type of thing?
Thanks for any info and is good to see everyone again, I have not been around in a bit.

Tony, my business partner Chuck makes laminated face letters - gator or PVC with anodized aluminum faces. He sells most of them locally, and has no catalog, but he does have samples.
We work from Gerber GA6.5, AI, or EPS files.
You can reach Chuck at Anchor Sign Systems 925-825-1618 fax 925-825-5574 Concord, CA
Tell him I sent you. Vic G
You may get the answering machine if he is routing, but he is good about returning calls.

I think using solid aluminum is better (depending on budget of course) and with such small letters, waterjet has crisper edges. Gemini does it, though I have never dealt with them...... Rick

I agree with Rick and would recomment Gemini. The are a letterville merchant. Click the link on the left and look for Gemini. They are reasonable and have lots of options along with mounting options. Good Luck!
P.S.- They offer a discount for Letterville Residents

7 years of production and I did ONE job that was solid aluminum letters. Everything we did off our routers was "faux"---metal laminate on gator, pvc, or acrylic. Paint the edges and slap them up! 4" tall solid aluminum letters will weigh a ton!, require pinning, and won't cut all that great.
Find a CNC/router guy and see what they can do for you! Gemini is all right, but their stuff seems to look all the same. If you're going to use a straight-forward, helvetica type font, using a router guy will allow you to customize it "slightly", whether with slant, or combining.

I have to respectfully disagree about aluminum letters weighing too much, as we spec out solid aluminum, stainless, brass and glass cut, routed and waterjet cut all the time for interior, exterior and exhibit applications. Aluminum does cut great and most dimensional letters should be pin-mounted anyways (depending on install, and substrate) Gemini will custom cut any typeface you have or use thier stock typefaces, Signmart also does it, also waterjet cut companies in your area should be capable also.

Thanks all. I will look at what Gemini has to offer if I can get their site to come up. Other than that, I am weighing the look and 'feel' of solid vs coated. These will be in a very low trafic area except for walkthroughs and presentations. The wall is a carpeted sheetrock type wall so I dont think mounting will be a problem.
The lighting is tracklight wall flood and I was thinking the solid might give a better feel. This division is our Advanced Technology Center where cutting edge stuff is produced. The facing walls are 22' long by 9' high and each will have 6 or 7 graphics each printed up with the titles above on the right of each wall.
I am still in the thought process and what I saw in my mind was 1/2" thick solid 4" letters. Though this is the cutting edge department, it is quite safe using ariel or helvetica because that is what 90% of the programmers and engineers use and want to see... heh.
I will look around at some prices on the cut aluminum and maybe check out some surfaced letters.
Thanks.
And yes, I will yell at some of you guys if gemini cannot do what I need.
