Is ANYONE out there producing relatively interesting flex letters for track signage using Roman fonts or other faces? Need letters in the 3" to 6" range, and have been horribly depressed by the uniformity of gothic offerings online.

David, there are the flat letters and the raised ones. You can make your own flat letters to get away from simple block styles. For store-bought letters, the other vendor is Wagner Zip-Change http://www.wagnerzip.com/newsite/menu.asp
Hope this helps Vic G

Thanks guys - I managed to contact somebody in the Gemini backroom and it turns out they do have a few sets left of one old discontinued serif font called Kruse or something.
Much appreciated your advice, but the other firms noted had all abandoned everything but the helvetica/gothic lowest common denom.
Anyway our problem is solved, but the mystery remains - why is the most boring font not only a dominant standard but the only bleeding choice in this world. You'd think a market niche would be gaping for somebody with an ounce of graphic imagination these days.
gratias, david k-

Helvetica might be the most boring because you see it most often! This letter style was produced for the billboard companies in order to be readable for the longest time,at the greastest distance, while traveling at speeds up 60mph. I belive the idea why the U.S. Government,Architects,Printers, and "Flex" are produced this way... is stated above. SIGNS AIN'T ART Hope this helps
