I am thinking of going to the show in Atlantic City in Dec. We went right after I bought my shop in 2000 and learned a lot of stuff. Now I want to go learn about large inkjet printers and sublimation.
If Garry and I go, we may take our designer. If that happens, he may want to split the room with someone. When we went before, it surprised me how cheap the motels were 10 minutes away.
I am dissappointed that it appears there isn't anything going on for inkjet printing. I think there is another covention going on for that Oct 30th Nov 2.

My wife and I are making plans right now. Sign World was the best of the shows I've been to in years past including ISA and The(not so)Big Show. Looking forward to Dan Antonelli's logo seminar and Mark Roberts marketing tips. Also interested in seeing the Summa DC3 working.
It was a lot cheaper to fly into Philedelphia and rent a car to AC than to fly there or take the shuttle from Phil. airport. Air fare is no bargain as we could fly accross country for the same price!?

We will be going on Friday & Saturday. This will be our first show. We just started our business in March. Any good ideas on where to stay cheap? Any other suggestion on things to do while there to would be great!

The motel that we stayed in was about 10-15 minutes from the convention hall and it was real close to Denny's (we ate the $2.99 breakfast there every morning). I can't remember anything more.
If you got a flyer, take a look at the free seminars and determine which ones you are going to go to. My husband and I split up at times and went different ways. We had walkie talkies so that we could keep track of each other.
If we go this year, I am going to try to take in a workshop on carving. My husband is interested in the airbrushing.

Despite having heard great things about this show for years I've never made the time.
Are there any 'heads out there who know the area well enough to organize a dinner or cocktails or something?

Alan D...saw your post and was curious just how much you had looked into the summa dc3? I have had several topics sparking info/interest in this machine and am considering it as an addition to our output. I am very familiar with the arizona 180 and the vutek 2360 models...their just seems to be to much up keep in these machines. Price wise, you need to be running the solvent inkjets continuously to insure that you do not have drying of the heads which are so hard to revive once their clogged. We need a machine to compliment our screen printing output and think that the dc3 would be a good because if you don't need to run it one or three or four days then you need not worry about resurrecting it for use. Just my 2 cents, if you have any info I could use it, or anyone else for that matter. I am going to the SGIA in St. Louis but the dc3 will not be there. Thats a bummer...it seems if they were confident in the machine that summa would attack every trade show available to promote its output.

Jon, I believe there is a list of resturants on the USSC site to pick from. There is a pub across the street but it's always too busy. The others are a short walk or drive away. We like the resturant in the Trump Casino...usually not too crowded, reasonable prices and good food (most folks overlook the casino eateries). I hope we get a chance to meet!

I am trying really hard to go this year, and maybe bringing a few friends from local shops. I went in 1999 and we stayed at the Marriot not all to close to the trade center, never rented a car or anything the buses (guntney's) are running constantly and we ate at the casino resturants too.

Laura, If you go to the USSC website, click on Sign World, then click on exhibits, you'll have a complete listing of all the vendors that will be there and their specific locations. I hope this helps!

All 4 of us will be there. It was great last year. If you want to eat on the cheap there is a sub shop named the Whitehouse Sub Shop it is on 2301 Arctic street and North Mississippi Ave. They have huge subs and very reasonable prices and not to far from the convention center. Randy

Well I just made some reservations for Atlantic City. Round trip airlines from Detroit was $78. Motel is $39. at the Days Inn in Absecon - about 11 miles away. Anyone else staying at the Days Inn?

I'm just a lowly Pinstriper, however I am always in the "Bull-Pen" at the AC show. I answer all questions asked, some truthfully and others with out right lies, yours to figure which is which! LOL :-)
