Pat and I finished the drivers side of the truck this afternoon, and he is coming back tomorrow to do the passenger side. I've been up here tonight trying to get part of the other signs done so I will have time to work on the truck tomorrow. I just stopped for a while to scarf down a mutton sandwich, and thought I would check out the board while sitting. I'll get the stripes on the fridge when the others are finished.

We're not home, but we are safe in a motel room in Bloomington, IN. Appy and Troy will get a real kick out of this. We are in the very room they shared back in 1998 at the Letterheads On Mainstreet Meet.
Tomorrow morning, we are going to look up Gary Anderson and take in the small town of Nashville. It's located just East of Bloomington. Nashville is reported to be a showcase for Gary's work and we're planning on getting some photos and video to show you all. Maybe we can even convince Gary to be our Guide.
A big thank-you to Don and Dora Hulsey for treating us all to a wonderful weekend. There was lots to learn, tons of laffs, and the food was terrific. I can't recall a meet where I painted so much. It was great!
As soon as I finish this post, I'm going to try and start a page of meet photos. Stay tuned.

Steve, by-all-means, don't miss Nashville, In. If you like signage, that is one place you want to go! Been there several times and want to go again. Sorry I missed the Kentucky get together. Maybe next time.

I arrived in Belvidere at 8 pm sharp record time, seven hours! Still tasting all that hometown cooking, mutton, venison, chicken, etc, not to mention the breads and everwarming coffee. What a neat meet, lots of intense learning and laughter along with the cute little twin grandsons! Dora and Don really put a lot of work and love into this one, no one wanted to leave, not even the mystery critter that was shaking the Shortreed's door in the early am this morning on their sleeper camper! Barb said it wasn't that huge wind that blew in last night, or it would have shook the whole camper. That's okay, it must have been that 10 foot squirrel searching for some of those eatins!

We just got home. It took us 9hrs and 15 mins but we stopped at the shop to pick up mail and see if there was any checks - there was. Always nice to come home to some money.
We really enjoyed everyone's company and learned alot. I really enojoyed the music last night. I ended driving 5 hrs. and spent all that time listening to OLDIES so that I can remember more words for next time.
Hey Don, did the FBI from Washington DC show up and find the white truck yet? That was a good idea painting the radio station stuff on it.
I heard that when Lora Butler showed up right after I called that you thought that I called from the driveway . Anyone wondering what I am talking about, you had to be there.

I think we are a bit squirrly, but yes, there were to Laura (Lora) Butlers at the meet! If that wasn't a conspiracy, then the truck is.... hee, hee Laura, we did try to help Don get that "wanted" white truck get camouflaged, since it fits the one on the news to the T. Lora Butler from Kentucky taught me you can letter one shot on trucks with fitches! and when you think it can't be done.. speaking of coincidences.... wonder if the radio show will blow it's cover, after all it is a blabber mouth biz. That's why Don was in such a hurry to get it lettered...?

Sure seems lonely around here this morning. At least I know Duckie will be coming in afterwhile, but he will be leaving this afternoon.
Steve & Barb,
It's probably a good thing you got a room last night. I had to scrape frost off the windshields this morning. It was 34 degrees when I got out of the house. I am hoping it will warm enough for Pat and I to finish the truck today (before anyone spots it heh heh).
Anybody want any mutton, venison, pork loin, or ribs???

Thank you Don, Dora, and the family for a wonderful time. We enjoyed the food, fellowship, music and sharing. And the shop in the woods is a dream!
I learned a lot of neat tricks and some new post and panel techniques with HDU and PVC. Also, I am now ready to use smalts. And I am now toting a Bobbie King rose in my purse!
Thanks to everyone who attended and enriched one another's lives.
