Santo, Tony & Aggie Brousard, Mark Perkins, & Bryan & Josette Quebodeaux, please let us know how you are in regard to Ms. Lili.

Are any of you planning to evacuate? Our hopes and prayers are with you. If you need a place to go, we should be safe here and we can "bunk" a family here.

If you have a chance, let us know, we are worried about all of you.

hi Kathy,
have one eye on the weather channel today, doesn't look too encouraging, some of the computor models show the center passing over Eunice with winds still over 70 mph....I guess we'll find out if alumalite is as hurricane proof as they say. I'm in a pretty sturdy house, not too worried about the wind except for the 60' tall pecan trees all around it.

I boarded up on the south side this morning early. All my masking tape is on the windows now. We had water and supplies from last week. We'll ride it out here. Thanks for the concern. We love you Maw Maw!

It is good to hear that you all feel comfortable with this. I've been wondering about all of you. Even tried to call Kathy earlier, but long distance is not working from here today. I'd appreciate seeing a head count from everybody once she goes through.

Man the lifeboats - batten down the hatches!!

How's our Cajun and Coastal pals? Are y'all still afloat? With what you've already been through, Lili doesn't seem fair. I've got some extra bedrooms if anybody wants to get dry. We'll leave the light on for ya.

We live this . nothing new. We either scatter, hide under our shells or just defy nature. Either way its hard to tell us what we should do. Every one of us has our own ides of what to do.

Me. well i plan to hightail it like a white tail deer if it goes cat 3 and come my way..

Since its cat 4 and goind over to Santo's over there i'll just set here and wait it out.

By teh way, I hate it when the new channels tell us every five minutes how to do stuff. But they gotta make money on others misery.

One thing good about this storms. It blows all the litter back to Mississippi. [Smile]

The wall around the center was predicted to hit here, but about 30 minutes ago the lady made more of a western movement. Looks like Santo, Tony, Mark & Bryan will be catching the brunt of the storm.

As far as checking in after she makes her visit, we will probably be out of power for some time.

Lindy and I just got in from putting the rest of the lawn furniture in the shed. She said to tell Pat King that she used the sidewalk chalk to write "Hurricane Lili" in the back yard. Tomorrow she plans to add above it "I survived" [Wink] we hope.

We will be fine here, just keep the others in your prayers.

I have the waferboard sheeting from the inside of my shop and some of my fence and the gate used to board up windows. So we'll hope for the best. Tony is in a real low area. There was a early evac order there. I was just napping and taking it easy.

6:45 update has the storm as a Cat 2. We should be seeing the the winds within a half hour. We may see part of the eye right here in Youngsville. It's starting to blow pretty good.

9:20 lost electric power. The eye is less than 1 hour south. I'm on the laptop checking the phoneline.

Well, the old gal ranted and raved, huffed and puffed until she mellowed and became a category 2 then upon landfall a category 1.

This is good news for our friends in south central Louisiana. They did not receive the 150 mph winds as predicted. The northern gulf waters had been cooled by rains from tropical storm Isadore and could not support Lili's rage. Hoping everyone is O.K.

Lost the rest of my fence and some trees. That looks like the extent of damage. There is a lot of damage from high winds from tornados that were spotted. No lights, and we don't know when they will be restored. Saving the battery. Bye. Keep up with Mark Perkins and Bryan Quibedeaux their area was on the same line as me.

I just remembered something. My twin is standing outside in a hurricane! I'm hoping those extra helpings of red beans and rice have kept me from being blown away. Please tell me I'm ok Kathy.

The other Steve's encounter with Ms Lili was safe, he wore protection [Wink] You can thank R.T. for that. About two weeks ago he was taken down and clear coated with expertice!

Santo, glad all you lost was the fence. I can't help but feel releived when I think of how bad it was expected to be. Ayeeeeeeeeee!

Hope Tony, Mark, Bryan and their families are as fortunate as Santo. Can't wait to hear.

Hi Yall!

We took off for Crossett Arkansas to visit some friends up there. Had problems trying to backup my files so I took the computer with me. I put my plotter in the closet for safe keeping and we hit the road. I knew the traffic was bad on hwy 90 so we took the back roads and jumped onto I 49 north above Lafayette and avoided the gridlock (because I'm smarter than the average bear:) )

Everything was ok when we returned yesterday (10/4), power got turned on about 2 hrs ago and the cable came about an hour after that.

There are a LOT of electrical & tree trimming trucks all around, man, gotta appreciate them folks!

Everything is fine, thanks for the concern.

Best Regards,
Tony, Aggie, Mallory & Katie Broussard

Hurricanes were the cause of me learning Wall Dogging early in my career in South Florida.
Sign Ordinaces didn't allow for free standing or projectional types.
quess the reasoning was......
"if the sign went down, the building was gone too"
Glad to hear everyone but the flimsy signs survived.

I think I've figured out why they name hurricanes after women

when they come they are wet and wild
when they leave they've taken your house and car with them

usually hurricanes have pretty much fizzled out by the time they up to my area, when they downgraded Lili to a catagory 2 I figured we would get a lot of rain.....maybe a few gusts of wind....boy was I wrong...I do know one thing, if another one is heading my way I'm out of here....

Glad to hear you are safe Mark. I hope you didn't loose too much in your storage shed.

I'd rather face a hurricane than a "himicane" (like Hugo) any day [Wink] Wonder why they finally started naming them after men afew years back? hehehe

Anyway, good luck on the cleanup efforts and the sign replacements. I'm kinda thinking you may not have trouble with the cheapskates on prices. Seems they don't care as much if the insurance company is paying for it. Let us know how that works out, it may be interesting.

Things are getting back to normal. I took some pics of my fence for reference. We just had our electricity restored yesterday evening. We had hurricane force winds for more than 4 hours Thursday. There was lots of tree damage and fences in the neighborhood were all down. There was some roof damage to a few houses. Overall we were fairly lucky. I get back soon. I'm in a training course for a few days.
