Is anyone else using the Graphtec CE2000? I just bought one but I might be sending it back? Am I giving it a chance? I don't know but I don't know if I like it. I have been using the Ioline Studio 8, 20inch cutter. I miss it. It was getting a mind of it's own but I could get it fixed for $500. I thought it was time to upgrade. It was so easy to use. Someone please tell me that I made a good change. Can someone sell me on this? I just got it a week ago. Help me!!! Judy

I just got one up and running Judy...

What program and version are you using?

Let us know what problems you are encountering and maybe we can help...

Good Luck...

1.- the vinyl buckles in the middle, 2. it's hard to adjust the settings during the process of cutting, my Ioline - I could adjust while it's cutting. I had to cut a 10" x 10" area of 22K turn gold and I ended up wasting about $50 worth and still never got it cut to weed. I have it set at 15 to start (tech support said that's average) - I went from Force 9-22. I gave up. That's too expensive to keep trying on. 3. Also if you pause the job in the middle - you can't continue the job - it goes back to the beginning. Maybe there's a way to fix all the above but I can't figure it out. Judy

Judy:

You have a beautiful smile.

That may not help with your plotter problems - but maybe it will brighten your day a bit...

Ok guys, this isn't helping my plotter problem. I don't have much of a smile anymore. Maybe I should have just stuck to my Ioline- just getting it fixed - Or do another all nighter here at the shop checking out all the features and testing out all the vinyls. I just hope I don't have another SignGold job til my Ioline is fixed. Judy

I haven't had the problem of the media buckling that you described, but I haven't tried SignGold in it yet. Maybe your hold downs are too far apart. Or it could be that the mylar backing is slipping. Maybe some masking tape on the back placed where the hold downs run along the vinyl.

As for the other issues, sorry but I haven't had mine long enough to know how to fix them.

If I do come across any info, I will pass it along.

I would save the wasted gold and cut some small flourishes, bullets, border stripes etc. from any useable pieces and save them for additions on signs.

Good Luck ... and stop teasing the boys or I'll send you to your room [Big Grin]

Hi Judy,
We have 2 graphtec plotters, a fc-2100 and a ce-1000. The fc-2100 is about 7 years old and runs every day, all day, no problems, great machine. However, our ce1000, does alot of the same things as you described. We bought it as a back-up plotter, but thankfully we do not have to use it that much. What we do to combat the puckering of the vinyl is to hold your hand on top of the vinyl in back of the machine,as its cutting this seems to help the puckering. For cutting force, we have found a force setting of 17 works good for HP.(Have not cut any signgold in it, don't think I really want to)Also I don't know what kind of roller yours came with, but the one that came wiyh our ce1000 was crap, a little plastic one about 10 inches wide. If yours is like this you need to change it as some of our puckering problem's subsided when we got a full roller for ours(from grimco i think, not sure) We have spent a lot of time getting this thing running ok so if you have any questions give us a call. The ce1ooo is priced at about half the fc series, so I guess you get what you pay for, but I am still a little disapointed in our ce-1000.
