Is there a command to have Corel change all of the color in a vector file from CYMK to RGB and vise versa, without doing them one at a time. I am trying to print a color chart showing the difference in printing them, of which there seems to be quite a bit. Thanks, Jack

Don't know if this is what you are looking for but, I just opened a file which was created in CMYK. When an individual object is was selected, the color profile at the bottom of the screen showed the color value in CMYK. I selected all of the objects and went to the fill dialog, selected RGB and clicked apply. I then hit CTLR-Z to undo the changed fill colors. Now when I select an individual object, the color value at the bottom is displayed in RGB.

Dave, Where did you select the change to RGB command?. I can't get it through right clicking on the fill icons at the bottom. When I choose more than one object, the CYMK values disappear because I have 20 different colors on my drawing and it can only give the value of one of them at a time. I'm using Corel 9

If you go to the Edit pull-down menu, select "Find and Replace", then "Replace Objects", then select "Replace color model or palette"... it will open up a dialog box.
From there select "Find a color model" - tell it which one, and then select a color model to replace it with. Click finish and then some small floating buttons will appear. Click on "Replace All" to have it go through automatically, or click on "Find" and "Replace" for each object if you need to.
This will only replace the fills, you have to repeat the process again and select "Outlines" in the main dialog box to replace the outlines too.
The search and replace features in CorelDraw are incredibly powerful if you're working on anything complex. It makes life a lot easier.
If anyone hasn't played around with those features, go take a look - you'll probably find some ways you can use them.

Jack, I got the RGB from the fill color dialog by clicking the fill icon. I'm using version 8. I'm going to see how Bob's method works in 8. Sounds better than what I'm doing.

Dave, It turned all my items to the same color when I selected them all at once. It did turn them to RGB though. Unless I'm mistaken, Bob's method would work well when you have a lot of seperated pieces the same color that you need to change all at once such as spots on a leopard.
What I have is a palette of 150 colors that I would like a sample of the printing of all in both RGB and CYMK (both using the same color on the palatte). Then by looking at my printed chart I would know which one to choose for that particular piece). There is certainly a lot of difference in the printed results. That seems to require a command to change each one invidually. Am I wrong?

Jack, It changed all the colors in my drawing also. What I did was hit Ctrl-Z after applying and my colors went back as the were but my color model changed from CMYK to RGB.
I wonder what would happen if you went to your pallet editor and changed the model there? In version 8 it's under the tools menu.

Jack, the way I posted will do what you want to do. It will go through and convert all objects that are in the colour model you specify. Even if they're all different colours. I just tried it again, and converted about 150 Pantone coloured objects to CMYK and then switched them all to RGB within seconds. It's kind of fun to watch too.
Dave's way sounds interesting. I'll have to try it.

Thanks Bob, I misunderstood, thinking that it would only search out a color a time. I went back and tried that again, and it worked beautifully.... This printed palatte should really help me in renderings to my customer. I am always having to apologize for my printer. First off I was using an outdated printer driver, but now have that fixed. I think I can start hitting my paint colors dead on with a little adjustment from the printout. Bob Rochon's printer matching vinyl color palatte is what got me on this. Thanks again for the advice. Jack John, I tried your method again, and when I hit Ctrl Z it changed back to the same type of fill . You may have a great glitch in version 8, but it will not work on V 9. Yours may be shortcuting the method of which Bob speaks of that works very well. Thanks again, Jack

Jack, At the risk of beating this to death, I'm not sure why ver.8 is acting different than 9. There really is a big color difference in the printed colors in the same file between the two color models.
This is off the topic but something I found by accident that I was unaware of, if you click and hold your left mouse button on a color on the color bar, it will pop up either 11 or 27 different shades of the color. I asked a couple other Corel users if they knew that and they didn't. Pretty cool for creating shadows and blends.
Bob, Thanks for your post on the "Find and Replace" menu option. I tried the method you described and it works great. I'm sure I'll find other uses for this feature. Corel is such a powerful program. I consider myself a "power user" but as I continue to learn more and more of it's features, I have to wonder just how much I am underutilizing it's full potential.

I knew about the pop-ups on the colour wells, and actually I knew this trick too, but had forgot about until I was reminded of it at the Consac seminar on CorelDraw.
If you have an object selected that is say purple... if you hold down the control key and click on any colour in one of your palettes, it will mix that colour in 10% increments into the purple object (or whatever you have selected. So you can add 20% more of a particular blue to a colour by Control clicking twice etc. I thought that was pretty neat.
