Just a quick thanks to all of those 'heads who were kind enough to drop by the ND GRAPHICS "X-TREME" exhibit (at ConSAC 02) to introduce themselves and chat a bit. I hope we made your visit informative and fun. Some of you choose to remain fairly "incognito" here in Letterville, so I won't mention you by name.

I will say a special thanks to our mayor and first lady for stopping in for a nice conversation...and of course to Bob Darnell.

Take care folks - and we hope to see you again next year.

Wish I could have been there to see all the neat stuff, but its a bit far and costly for us west coasters to attend. It would be great if SAC would find a way to hold an event out here for us, Canada is a little bigger than just Ontario.

But while I'm here Jon, I have a small question. One of the most comfortable tools I had was a pair of ND weeding tweezers that I have since lost, and exacto works but isnt as fast for me. I have asked at my branch out here but nobody seems to have them or even remember them. They were about 3-4 inches long and had a broad area for your thumb and finger with the ND logo printed on them. Do you know this item? Can I get one somewhere? Thanks....

It's been years since we last attended a CONSAC show. The sign industry is changing rapidly and there isn't much on display for those of us clinging to the paint and brush era. Tramp was demonstrating his pinstriping magic at the 1-Shot booth. I took the opportunity to study his style and learn some striping tricks to practise.

Bob Darnell drove down from London, Ontario. Bob is one of our favorite Letterheads. We spent the day together and pigged out later at Tucker's Marketplace.

Our old Letterhead pals, Pete and Marj Payne were there. Many of you know them from past Letterhead meets or thru their company, Canadian SignCrafters Supply. After exchanging a few stories about family and signs, they headed out to visit Russ Kelly.

Had a great visit with Jon Aston of ND Graphics. He surprised us with a wonderful item for the Letterville Auction. Anyone who remembers the 1972 Canada-Russia Hockey Series will love to get their hands on this one! It's a DVD set that includes all the games and get this. It's autographed by Paul Henderson, the guy who scored the winning goal with only seconds left to play. Watch for it on the Letterville Auction . Thanks Jon.

Tim:

I'll see what I can find out about those ND tweezers...but don't hold your breath. We still do a pretty brisk business in Gerber tweezers if you would like to give them a whirl.

I'm on your side in relation to ConSAC being an "Ontario" only show. I would like to see them alternate between cities in Western Canada, Central Canada and Atlantic Canada every year. ND GRAPHICS has raised this issue within the association before but we were one voice in the wind. You can be sure that it will get raised again.

Steve:

I wasn't looking for a plug with that bit of "swag" - but you can be sure that it is appreciated.

That autographed "Team of the Century" DVD would be a coool thing for any collector's shelf - and even if you aren't a hockey fan, it would make a great gift for one that is close to you. I'm willing to bet that it will also be worth some serious money one day - so I hope you won't start the bidding too low!

Thanks Jon, they may have been gerber tweezers, but with the ND logo on them, I'm not sure! What do they look like? I am out of town from your Burnaby branch, so I rarely get a chance to wander in and see the products that are offered.

Tim:

I should have mentioned that the issue discussed above re ConSAC being "Ontario-centric" was one of the motivations for launching the ND GRAPHICS RoadShow. The RoadShows we have done to date have been very well receieved...so I think we're onto something really great.

I had originally planned to do at least one (and as many as three) in BC this year but haven't got the funds. Unless I can pull some rabbits out of my hat, it is looking like our clients and prospective customers in BC might have to sit-tight until Spring of '03.

Why don't you consider "meeting us halfway" in Regina? The "Living Sky Letterheads" are really fantastic people and the RoadShow itself will be a real eye-opener - as well as a good time.
