I hear there is a paint for tiles as in bathroom & kitchen tiles that supposedly will hold up. Some screen inks work, or get them engraved.

You're not painting XXXX are you?
I've heard of some good results coming from ESP ( easy surface prep) on glass. You guys have hardware house don't you? that's where I got mine from.

Try this link
Deltacraft

It's more a paint for crafts but perhaps it could be useful.

Ian ... wipe the glass down with ESP made by the Flood Company who make Penetrol... available at Mitre 10 here in Toowoomba.
ESP was formulated to make paint stick to glass and ceramic tiles. Then use signwriting enamels. A drop of hardner won't hurt either.
Other than that, I did a series of glasses for the Southern Hotel using cast vinyl. As long as the graphics are not too thin and you "clip" all the points, these last reasonably well.
Don't know if Alister's Lazer will handle glasses, but you could try asking him.

I don't have a clue what is available in Australia... but I would try this:

Head to the local artsy fartsy craft store and check out the specialty paint aisle.

There are several paints available, but make sure that it is permanent and FOOD SAFE. Usually you have to paint the object, then put it in the oven at a low temp for an hour or something like that.

I haven't used the stuff myself... yet... but my best friend Donna just handed me a jar of homemade wild grape jelly yesterday. The jar has raised fruit - she painted it with the glass food safe paint - then filled it with the jelly and it had to go thru the sterilization processing of the jelly. The paint held up fine.

If it can withstand that, hand washing and dishwashers will be a breeze!

If you need to know the specific brand, let me know and I will ask Donna.

Good luck!
