Being a new user of Coreldraw. Should I start out with V11 or would an older version be easier to learn?

Corel is hard to learn whatever version....but if you're starting out, Id start with the newest! Im currently using v7, with no desire to go higher. It does everything I need and more.....and NEVER crashes.....so why upgrade!

An older version will be cheaper on E-Bay. But buying anything prior to version 9 would be counter-productive since the user interface was different in earlier versions and it took a while to figure out where everything was located in the newer version.

The actual basic functions are the same but each new version has new features and functions.

My advice...buy ver 11.....Oh..By the way..version 10 did not include user manuals or clipart manuals. Version 11 does.

Corel isn't that hard to learn!!! A couple of years should get you through the basics.
I've got 9 and it crashes a lot.
11 and you won't have to upgrade for a year or two.

Speakin' of Corel, where's OP?

Sorry, but this is probably my only chance ever to correct you, Dave [Wink] ....
my Corel 10 user manual is right here beside me,
178 pages, very helpful, but not for the specific problems that come with signmaking.
It puzzles me, by the way, that Corel seems to ignore signmakers, even though just about everybody is using their software. Too many things, basic for sign design, are not covered by the manual.

Hi Lotti...I must have gotten ripped off then, because my upgrade version of Corel 10 came with no user manual NOR a clipart catalogue. Maybe the full versions had them??? Who knows. [Smile]

Hi Dave,
that is actually strange, because I have an upgrade version too. It have manuals for CorelDraw, Photo paint and Rave. No clipart manual though, which is really annoying, because I find myself wasting tons of time trying to find
the right picture. Or even a "search" feature, like in Print Artist (where is OP anyway?) would be helpful.
