I am new to the sign/banner business. I have just purchased a 24" vinyl cutter and am having a hard time figuring out the software. Anybody in the greater Atlanta, GA area that would allow me to visit your shop? Any and all advice is appreciated.
Thanks,

Hey Robert, What kind of software and what kind of plotter? Are you having a hard time setting up the plotter configuration? If it is a new plotter, tech will guide you though it. I just had to redo my plotter settings because of a sign software upgrade. All of the information was in the plotter manual. You will have to run some test plots and reconfigure until a test plot works. It will take a while, but it will work eventually.

Hey Robert, welcome to the board. I ain't from Atlanta but I'm in Hartwell, I'm still a newbie in most respects but I would be glad to help you by e-mail, phone or when I am down that way stop by to help you with anything I've already figured out. Most sign programs are pretty simple once you get the basic concept of them. I recommend getting CorelDraw even if it is an older version like 8 or 9. There are plenty of books for CorelDraw at Barnes and Noble and the like and the basic principles of Vector graphics are easy to pick up from them. I use Vinyl Express Master a version of FlexiSign and it is really simple to use and figure out if you learn a little about CorelDraw . Flexi is way simpler than CorelDraw and a breeze to use once you get the basics of Vector graphics down.
