Any ideas? I've all but finished an old gas station over to Creative Services Sign Station (use it as a fabrication building). Using it to promote all the different kinds of things I do. Want to have an open house and have an 'event'. I always like to come up witha name for the event ...but this one is giving me trouble. The event will be the grand opening of the sign station. My two boys have rebuilt a '68 Charger and other son his '71 monte Carlo. Have them on display plus other cars from area car nuts. My oldest son does car stereo intalls, XM radio, etc. so want to highlight that. We now do window tinting, keep that in mind. Plus the usual car window graphics and graphics packages. my oldest son also does DJ work, so tunes will abound and pound! We also have a clothing store we want to weave in...it's aimed at the high school, college, and pro football crowd with the types of clothing lines we carry. Now to event names...'Fall Tune-up'....flat but tells the tale of gas station, stereos, etc. 'Fall Blast!'...eeeewwwww! boy it's just not workin...any ideas?
And thanks to all who answered my post about 50's -60's clipart, gas station artwork, sites, etc. Check out - www.SparkysGarage.com Neat site! good use of sound bites.
Thanks ahead of time!

Hi Mick. How about something very simple, but related to all auto events..."The Light's Turned GREEN "
I think everyone can relate ...they ALL know what's supposed to happen when the light turns green. That's when Motion starts.

How about - don't call your new venture "Sign Station". I have used the name "Sign Station" for my sign business since I registered it in 1984. We are frequent Letterhead participants, and have customers in IOWA. It would be a shame for your operation and ours to suffer from confusion due to the sharing of a name. Surely you can come up with an ORIGINAL idea for your monicker, instead of taking mine.
Just as an example: I am constantly getting calls for a "Marty" for electric sign jobs from all over the country. Unfortunately, Marty named his business "Signsation.

As a distributor with thousands of active accounts in this business I can tell you that there are plenty of examples where the very same "Original Ideas" and "Original Names" get dreamed up by different people across the country.
Great name but it is possible that someone else beat even you to the punch, Barbara.
Mick: I think your concept is unique enough that it deserves a name like THE SIGN STATION. You could really go far with the idea by making a metal sign with a look reminiscent of an old TEXACO sign. Heck, give the whole place a kind of retro 50's or even art deco kind of a feel - old gas pumps and pin-up girl;s and such. Have some fun with it!
I can't improve on the suggestions from people like Mike Meyers and Suelynn Sedor...other than to say that if this is going to become an annual event, "go big" and "go gimmicky" to make a lasting impression. Might want to consider cross-promoting with a few other local businesses that have good "fit"...barber shop, 50's style diner, local mechanic...you could hand out vouchers for each other's shops.
Good luck!
