Count me in.... I haven't done a panel before, but full speed ahead and #%$&! the torpedos. As my mom said more than once, I've lit on my head a few too many times and lived to enjoy it. Particulars are in the mail... I think that the grab bag idea would be kool..

I've got about 42 or 43 signed up now! A couple others have e-mailed me that they wanted to join in but didn't include their name or address and I haven't heard back from them yet. Others are tentative, I'm going to predict close to 50 will be playing!
I know some of you are getting anxious to get going on this, please bare with me. I'm kinda wishing I didn't set the due date so far ahead but I didn't want anyone to miss out if they were away from the board for awhile.
I'm still trying to decide on the game plan. From the replies I've received, privately and here on the BB, you all seem to be split between my original concept of the draw and Mark M.'s idea of seeing the panels before you get them.
As far as any "theme" goes, it's going to be completely open this time around. Get creative and make whatever you'd like to make. If you need to be lead in a certain direction, I'd say just use "Letterville" as a basis.
I'd still like to encourage anyone to take some pics of their project as they work on it and write up a mini step-by-step. We can use this opportunity to learn from each other. With close to 50 panels being created there's got to be some techniques being used that might be new to someone else. Please consider this when you start your project.

Terry, I sent you an email, but didnt get a reply. Maybe you could post those that have signed up to make sure all the emails got through.

Sorry ... I know I was told to keep my hand down
Terry, if your having trouble deciding, there's a little button at the bottom of page (post a poll) one question.... "would you want to know who you are making a panel for .... yes/no"
or decide how ever you want (makes no REAL difference to me)
I think everybody wanting to see all the panels is a no brainer ... I'll donate the server space if need be.

I don't have a problem posting the pictures and I will set up a page when I receive them all. I (and many others) would just rather see the panels for the first time when they are in our hands. It will all work out the same way. Draw is random. If you don't want to know who you are sending yours to before you make your panel, just tell me.
CJ......I've set a due date for entering, and posted yesterday that I wish I hadn't set it so late, but I can't retract it now. Some people are still deciding and have told me they'll let me know by the due date. Also, a good deal of us are actually busy and need the time to design and produce something. I'm sticking with my end of January finale. There'd be a lot of people not signed up if it was any sooner. Sounds like you should have a panel sitting around your shop all the time anyway!

I think knowing who you are making a panel for will save a lot on shipping.( you ship it to the recieptiant (?sp) and be done with it. Terry, put the names in a hat and contact everyone to let them know who to send it to. It will be an honor to have someone else's panel hanging in my show room. I have a full wall beautiful mural, of a Dolphin, painted by Adrienne, and a pinstriping panel from Tramp Warner. Customers think it is neat that another sign artist would make something for some one else.
Adrienne, that dolphin is getting thin. What am I supposed to feed it. ( that chicken bus wrap is a riot- the marvels of computer programs!)

Whatever ya wanna do, and however ya wanna do it, is just great with me...... Let me know by e-mail where ya want some kinda panel sent, I'll see about making another one........!!
Just curious about a couple of things though..... Why would you think that I should have a panel sitting aroud all the time....?? I very seldom do any paint anymore, and when I do, it's just for fun, or something like this........ So where does that come from....?? :)The last time I even broke out the brushes was when I got some new ones from Lazerlines, and Timi. That was at least 6 months ago. So......Having panels laying around..Hmmmmmmmm!!
It does strike me kinda funny, that folks can go to a meet and do huge murals, paint entire towns, do fantastic panels at panel jams, all in a day or two, but for anyone to get something to happen around here takes forever to even get it going...... I mean like, a YEAR to sign a name on a banner...........and the one in Canada might just be a myth....hehehhe
Hell, Jimmy Norris sat down and did a six color panel for me, in little over an hour........Didn't seem to take a whole bunch out of his life, or day even.
It will take some people till the end of October just to let you know if they're gonna even participate in your project........??? Jeezz.....No wonder some folks are havin a hard time makin a living in this racket, what with havin to make decisions and all......
Something just seems a little strange about this picture.......Dosen't it....?? But it's Kool.......and it's fun, so I think it should be drug out as long as humanly possible.......heheheh!!! And ,It Will be.!!
The panel I did for this did take the better part of a weekend though, and was a family project, so was a bunch of fun.........
Took a standard 12X18 aluminum panel........ Polished out the center to bare metal..... Hand engraved the "L" from AMOL cover, cut kind of a kool oval around it................. Then we put on a background, did some Flames, Pinstriping, and a little leaf, etc.........
Walla..............A Panel !!
Not Brain surgery.........just a panel !!
And the BEST part........we did it as kind of a family project.......FUN !!
Guy came by, named Lewie........Had ta have it.... Sold.....Gone......Adios.....
Just a damn Panel........Not a lifelong career move...!!
Try it ......
Hope you all can see the smileys, and hehehe's, and hahahah's, etc......cause I'm not tryin to say anything mean, or anything that ya'll don't already know.......
Terry.....Lemme know when ya want me to do whatever ya want me to do......

My remark about having a panel around all the time was all about you making an unexpected $350. Have one around all the time and who knows how many you might be able to sell. That's all.
The deadline was set at the first of October not the end. So, in a couple weeks I'll let you know where you'll be sending it to. Be patient!!
Looks like someone's going to get a pretty cool early Christmas present from CJ!

Hahaha....... Terry..........Anytime ya can make anything here in KY, it's amazing, and to get paid.........hell, that's called a "Miricle".........
My mistake.......Only takes em 3 weeks to figger things out........hehehe!!!
Naw .....that panel is gone.... Did it once....do something else next time.....besides...the metal in those panels is junk, tooooo hard ta do!! Probably just do a black panel, with black flames, black pinstriping, and leave the leaf in my kit..........Howzz zat sound......hehehhe!! ........Think I might even sign it "Grundy" just to liven things up a little......
