Ever feel like everybody and everything is messin' with ya somedayz?? When you need to print something .....the printer decides not to work. (POS Epson). Receiving an important fax??......heh.........the fax machine is outta ink. Out comes a blank fax. (yeah well *blank* this) Oh and gee.......they no longer make ink cartridges for the model fax machine I have. [Razz] ........Try to call out......oops....cell phone is outta juice. Forgot to recharge. Can't see who was trying to call.............can't call them back.........................*

So then I just give it up for the day (work that is) and decide to vacuum. Vacuum belt breaks. The stove doesn't work. Call contractor as he has been messing with wires when installing skylight. He comes by and tells me wiring is bad. Needs to be replaced or house may catch on fire.

Dog does a do do on the hallway carpet. (he's old and has big ole' sad eyes) Can't be mad.

Coors Light is tasting real good. Kenny Wayne Sheperd is playin' some mighty fine tunes. Been a bad day. Going to go out with a friend.

Lately it seems like we've had a case of "simple jobs get complicated". Example - we had to add a new tenant's name to a high road side sign. Seems like an easy job but there is a planter around the base of the sign that is too small to put a ladder in and too big to ignore. So we spend an unprofitable amount of time coming up with a system to get the job done. Also, ever put up a wall sign on an EIFS system wall? Spent way too much time trying to find studs. I hate it when simple jobs get complicated.

Kathy...I can only handle one beer. Then I am out of hand.

Jean...aint that the truth. Guess that's why I keep bumping up my minimun price.

LOL George. Well I have done that too.
But today it is another beautiful sunny day.....going to do one small window lettering job and then go work in the garden!!

Have a great weekend

Cheryl,

I try and look at those days as if I'm gettin' it all out of the way at the same time! Then the rest of the week should be great.

CHeryl

I understand...

Back when I had a crew of 20 those days were doozies!

It seemed every employee came to me with broken tools (And always the ones without spares) supplies run out, power failure, customer cranky and of course bad weather.

ANd then there would be a crisis at home that couldn't wait...

And a deadline that was way too close.

But the other days always made up for this type of day.

Its been 25 years since I wasn't the boss and I prefer my current position way better. At least I can change things with a positive mindset instead of just suffering under a loser who seemed to enjoy it when EVERYONE was having a bad day.

Thanks for the replies and kind words. It's nice to vent sometimes eh. [Wink]

Got the stove working again... had to replace the wiring...it was so old it was crackling and falling apart everytime it was moved. It was a huge fire hazard up in the attic. [Eek!]

Going to get a new printer today or tomorrow. &#*! the fax machine. It will have to wait.

Hugs to you all!

Cheryl,

Consider getting one of the multi-function copier/printer/scanner/fax machines. Solve two problems.

or get WinFax for your computer...you can receive faxes right to your computer and send them also.

Hey Cheryl,
Remember THE RASCALS recording..."ITS A BEAUTIFUL MORNIN'"........Think of THAT when everything's caving in.....and if it doesn't help....it's a great record anyhow!
I spend most of my time hating everything.....but days like yours top the charts! [Roll Eyes]

Cheryl,

We just moved, so I hear ya!! ("Where did you pack the whatchamajig?" "I don't know!!" "The toaster busted in the move!" etc.)

Pick up a CD by Phish and you won't even need the beer...Rift is a good starter's choice.
