Yep, that's when sign designers/painters/installators ruled the world. 1940's Los Angeles Although we still kinda do as far as what we do.

That is an excellent quality film. Fascinating to watch the people, cars and everything. The sign layouts make more sense than a lot of what I see today.

The signs and wall murals were great. Nice, clean layouts, creative fonts, and nothing cluttered.
And is it me, or did everyone seem to stroll a little more slowly back then? The footage seemed normal speed. A more laid back approach to life back then.
Really nice quality footage also.
