Life has just pivoted. Both of my primary sources have been bought out by LARGE companies out of state. These are N*****Z and G****O. I have a call about a new van that needs lettering, right? I need more vinyl to do this project so I call to order it. G****O In the bay area doesn't stock colored vinyl any more...just 'media'. So I call N*****Z with the order. I think I'm talking with the Sacto store and we try to find the colors (2). Had to blind switch to another brand. Job has always been done in Gerber, but will now be done in Avery. N*****Z only drop-ships from manufacturer now. Sweet. Order will ship today and get here 4 days...(maybe). O.K., I ordered it. I'll do the van next week. Then I asked for an Avery color sheet. $1.04 and will be available at the will-call desk. In Orange county. Really? I live in the central valley of California. Denco (RIP) used to send my stuff UPS. That's no big deal. But not stocking staple colors in house? Now I call to a "call centre" 500 miles away, what? So, no more experienced sales staff? No more on the shelf product? No more drivers?.....Hello Fellers!

So where do the other sign shops in your area (within a 50 mile radius) buy their supplies from? That's a lot of shops that are most likely going through the same dilemma you are going through.

Yeah, except that the other shops have big ol' digital printers and print their colored lettering. I'm working on this. I guess Hexis is a direction but I have to realign the plotter to the bigger roll width. I can just wait for thee four days of shipping too.
