First off; I am not very well versed in electrical circuits. My question: I have an Electro Pounce Junior, I have had it for years with no problems.
It has been in storage for a year while moving and getting settled. I plugged it in today into a 20 amp circuit and it worked for about 30 seconds when it tripped the GFCI outlet on the circuit.
I have used this in two previous shops, just plugged it in and went for it, no issues.
Is it possible that the GFCI outlet (I never liked these) is bad?
I got my pattern finished using a traditional pounce wheel, butI would really like to have my Electro Pounce working.

I have the same problem. It knocks off the GFCI outlet then out goes the power on half of the shop. What I have been doing is running 2 50 foot extension cords to another small shop on my property. It doesn't have them GFCI outlets. But it's a little pain to do.

When my shop was built the GFCIs were "recommended" in damp areas only so I had to go outside to test this. I have an Electro Pounce and a Junior(long story). Both of them have worked fine for years, but both only lasted a few seconds in the GFCI. They both still work fine on a regular circuit. I'm thinking the GFCI may be the problem.

Doesn't matter if it is even on the same circuit. When the GFCI kicks out the radio will stop buzzing. If on the same circuit it will stop making any noise at all.

I guess that was what I was thinking, was not sure if it was just the GFCI in my building is bad, or if it was common with others too. I will just replace the GFCI with a traditional receptacle. I am also going to replace another GFCI which is on a circuit as a second refrigerator/freezer, I would not want to get a surprise there either.
