I going to be doing some work for a sign company nearby. In their email they had this,, The sign manufacturing industry is essential for the continued function of the economy in this time of crisis. It is essential to the nation’s food supply, banking other essential businesses to remain open, that this individual is permitted to proceed to or from his or her job or to otherwise perform his or her job function. The Sign Industry has been designated a “Critical Infrastructure Segment” under Presidential Policy Directive 21 and Department of Homeland Security emergency readiness programs implementing the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001. 42 U.S.C. § 5195c(e). It is, therefore, the policy of the United States government that these industries continue to function with minimal disruption in the event of an emergency. Furthermore , in a March 16, 2020 guidance, the President of the United States instructed employees of Critical Infrastructure Industries, including the commercial sign sector, to continue to perform their normal job functions during the coronavirus pandemic .

Hi Diane, So in Malta, where do people go if they need any Covid related signs or "To Go Only" signs? That's why sign shops are essential.

Diane, I never asked here in Michigan if we were considered essential. Just kept working and figured I would plead my case if I was shut down. I'm surprised you were.

I am small, 1 person shop, in a town of 15,000. The shop I farm out digital prints to, was closed from 3/14/20 to July. I don’t know where the stores got their signs. The local School bus distributor had me make dozens of face mask required magnetic signs, and 300 decals for the buses they sell. Restaurants around here , open for take out and only. 25% Eat in capacity, gyms are limited capaciy, Schools- Mostly In school 2 days, 3 days virtual, or can choose all virtual. My Grandkids have always been home schooled, so there is no change for them accept for not having gymnastic practice for 7 months, and all meets this past year cancelled, .
