For a couple days we've seen the sky glowing orange and amber light with ashes falling. Yesterday it was almost like night time all day. The fires causing this are many miles from here. What was funny was trying to match colors. Even with the lights on in the shop, these skies were filtering out some colors and I'm curious to see how good the matches will be when the skies get normal again. What we've been seeing is unlike anything ever before. One town over the hill from us looked like a dark night at midnight in the middle of the afternoon.

We have some of that down here. The sky looks hazy and everything has a yellow/0range cast to it.
I read an interesting fact recently. Even if the air is clean, no smog particles at all, the horizon would look orange at sunset. Something to do with light waves bending in the atmosphere.

Central Cal is having beach weather everyday. Seems like thick fog. Drove to Modesto for lunch (18 mi) and it was a never thinning fog bank. But of course, it is not fog. Staying inside and wearing mask when we get the mail. Walking the poodle has become a longer chore as she gets black feet up to the knees by the time we return and we have to wash her down to uncover the white dog again.

The fires in the west coast are so bad. Loss of homes and people lives. Breaks my heart. I have been told by loggers lot of it has to do with poor forest management. The government officials listen more to "Tree Huggers" then professionals when it comes to forest management. They don't allow dead trees to be removed. When forests are managed properly, not only are fires more manageable, but the green trees help to clean up the air. Yesterday, I kinda had a tiny headache. I stayed inside of the shop working on a truck. Tonite we got some rain. Thank you Jesus!
