Hey, just a reminder to be sure to back up your files on some type of exterior hard drive. I had one of my computers die the other day. It was the one that I used for my ShopBot. Thank goodness, that nothing on there that was a tragic lost. I'm gonna be picking up a refurbished computer with,,,, with Windows 7. I don't need the 10 on that one. It will never be hooked up the World Wide Computer Slavery business.

We back up our computers with Carbonite and an external hard drive. You can never be too careful and it has totally helped us out once already when my computer's internal hard drive crashed last winter.

A shop I worked for had an onsite back up for the server and two offsite back ups. First shop I worked for that had a full time IT manager.

We are using iDrive. It backs up every night. First year was $5.99. I just paid for the second year $69.95. Seems like a fair price for some peace of mind. Accessible from anywhere

We are a Mac based shop so it makes sense for us to use iCloud. What I love about this system is that everything is backed up in real time as I work and I can access everything seamlessly from all of my devices - no matter where I am or what I need to use.

Being able to access files is one of the best features of cloud based backup. I've wowed a few customers by being able to access their files after hours from home, not that I try to make a habit of it.

My computers are not hooked up to the internet. They "Stand Alone". So I use a little black WD Elements portable hard drive. The computer that just died on me, thought Bill Clinton was still our president.
