Many moons ago I was a supply clerk in a factory dealing with a constant inventory of several million $$$ worth of supplies. It was a big no-no to run out of anything because you could shut a whole production department down just by failing to keep a sufficient amount of one item in stock. They were always hollering about keeping the inventory down but you KNEW if you didn't keep a big load of commonly used items, you were in for it if you ran out.
I just spoke with another rep and they're telling me that they will increase their inventory on these items because we are a regular customer these ARE in fact "high demand items". Sheesh.

Sounds like Memphis. Everybody stocks the same things, nobody will try anything new. They never have or have had what I needed. Back when I had a sign shop a Tubelite rep paid me a visit wondering why I never bought from them. I handed him the list of things I needed to order. I said "see how much of this you have in stock". He called his store, then informed me they didn't have any of the items ( which I already knew ) but " we can order them for you". I told him " so can I like I always do and at 40% less than you would charge me".

It's almost like they want to operate as brokers instead of supply houses. Jack the price up sky high, make a phone call, have it dropshipped, by a private carrier, pocket the cash, and never have to handle it but it takes twice as long to get that way..
