I haven't posted in forever but I knew I had to come to the experts to ask about this. I have the opportunity to purchase a Mimaki CG60SL vinyl cutter. The guy selling it says that it was $1800 new. He's selling it for $700. I emailed Mimaki today and they said that machine came out 11 years ago. The dude selling it says it's never been used and still in the box. Do any of you know of this machine? Should I be wary of it? Some reviews that I found say that they like it better than the 24" Graphtec. I also couldn't find videos that would help me learn how to use it. I would appreciate any help if you have had one or have even heard of this model. Thanks!!

Not sure what the difference would be, but I have a Mimaki CG-60EX that is about the same age and has been running daily without a problem. There have been 2 times that I have run a 50 yd roll of vinyl through it without realigning. Not very many friction feed plotters can do that. It was only 2 times because that's the only times I have had the need to cut that much from the same roll.
The SL evidently is a cheaper model, as my EX was 4900.00 new, but Mimaki does have a great product. For 700.00 I would buy it just to see how it does.
Mimaki blades are considered expensive by some people. They are only sold in 3 packs, and cost around 100.00 per pack, but I am on the 4th blade in mine. To me that is actually pretty inexpensive for 10-11 years.
I am pretty sure you can get an Owners Manual from Mimaki, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out without one.
If you decide not to buy it, I would appreciate if you would send me the contact info for the guy that has it.
