At sundown the two 10w solar floodlights kicked on. The little floodlights do make it readablefrom the highway but I think it could stand to be a bit brighter.

That price seems about right. In my county anything over 32 sq. ft. has to be signed/sealed by a Fl licensed engineer. Engineers usually specify a LOT of concrete in the foundations. The costs for installation and permitting cost be an additional $1500.

Thanks Jean, This one is made of polystyrene foam (EPS). Even with the HDU elements it weighs less than 150lbs. All the foundation it needs is a level place on the ground. It has 2 sticks of 4" sch40 PVC pipe embedded inside and these are slipped over two steel poles, which are concreted into oversized holes in the ground. The only forces involved are windloads at or near ground level. In my county, one like this doesn't need an engineer and very minimal concrete.
