It's been ages since I've bought magnetic material, but I have several sets to make for a painter friend and have no idea what brand is best.

Any suggestions? Just need something to stick vinyl to and maybe add a few brush strokes. I'm not trying to find the cheapest, just the best.

Thanks.

I have always had real good luck with Magnum Magnetics. I can't remember the brands that the face peeled away from, but I have never had that problem with Magnum. If I was in the shop today I could tell you what brands to stay away from, but we are in Bar Harbor, Maine today on our way to the meet in Butler, PA.

Magnum Magnetics is our material of choice here, too. We've been using it for 5 years and have had no failures.

Ray, I also use Magnum Magnetics but just remember not to use calendared vinyl on it. It is actually covered with a 3M cast vinyl so you should always use a cast vinyl on it especially if you have full coverage, otherwise it will tend to curl up on the edges and blow off the vehicle.

No problem, Gary. I only use cast, premium vinyl.

Thanks for the information.
