When it comes to making anything for ourselves, it seems we are our worst critic. I have attempted to come up with some design ideas for our entry sign but am not happy with anything yet.
The house/shop is a 1928 Craftsman, originally I was attempting to tie in the sign design with the house with shape and colors, but am open to suggestions.
Who better to ask than Letterville? I am posting the logo and a few rough concepts. Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

I'll jump in first and say that I prefer the second version (the one without the script lettering)

Depends on what kind of posts application on #2...posts are a part of the design even if they are just plain...they still frame and help balance a layout.

Jeff...I like the idea of incorporating the craftsman style architecture into the sign design...although not knowing what the house looks like or the colors I threw together a couple of designs...don't know how craftsman these look...I just remember a lot of heavy wood features in the style.

WOW! Thanks Rusty, giving me some great ideas. I wish I had that background for me sign setting, looks coastal. I appreciate all the input from everyone. I want a very clean design and I don't want to clutter it up. Now with all of Rusty's ideas I will need to decide on the base I prefer. Sign will be located on a grade, so will take a photo and see what works best. THanks again everyone!
