What type, brand paint do you paint your alum composite when you need a special color? I have had good results with DTM acrylic (Sherwin Williams) but this particular job will have vinyl lettering on it. Thanks

I've had aluminum composite panels with high quality acrylic latex paint and vinyl lettering up for many years and haven't had any vinyl peel off yet. Just use gloss acrylic and you'll be fine. Initial tack is a little less on the vinyl so when applying it I always let the vinyl sit for a while before removing transfer tape. Re-squeegee using backer after TT has been removed. I haven't tried using Rapid Tac on latex so not sure if that is the best cleaner. I just wiped the panel down with a damp cloth or tack rag.

i have alway painted ANY METAL panels.....with AUTOMOTIVE A/E PAINT. work well on you car/truck dont it? also it faster drying longer lasting then any other paint. i have in the past primed MDO with KILZ, 20 minutes later sprayed automotive a/e on it 2-3 coats.........and an hour later i can letter on it or apply vinyl letters)))))))))))) one of the things i used to do, since i was in the automotive end for a while, places that mix automotive paint........sometimes dont hit the color they are aiming for......so you can buy these paints for less then half price.......say the guy mixing was tryin to get a certain red......he over pours one of the mix colors......cant put it on the car, so its a mismatched color....but will work for a background on a sign))))))))))))))

I've screen printed it with NazDar's 9700 all purpose and also the 7200 series Lacquer. Both didn't even flake when foot sheared.
