Some (make that many) who know me think I am often in too much of a hurry. It's not true. I simply have many ideas and projects that need expressing. I've come up with a solution that should make it all possible. Two of the office chairs at my desk are in sad repair. Rather than buy new ones I have come up with a novel plan to fix (and vastly improve) them. I've always loved the steampunk style and also rocket engines. I figure if I combine these wonderful things with my old office chairs I should be able to move about my office at record speed and in a great deal of style. I like to think of them as my new magic chairs. The design is done. I bought the new castors today. I'll get a good start on fabricating the first one tomorrow. -grampa dan

For some reason Dan, I just never pictured you in a motorized wheel chair;)

I tried to use the little "wink" gremlin, but it kept locking up my computer.

Don't forget to put a seat belt in it. Being rocket propelled could be dangerous, or a hazard to your health, not to mention all you may run over while racing around the place. Oh yes, a helment would be a good idea too.

You could put one of those new hover boards underneath of it and "fire it up."

No pun intended...

I turned over my old office chair to disassemble it and found a sign dog sticker. I had to smile for we've been finding the stickers in the most unusual places for many years since Duncan's visit to attend the Letterhead meet we held back in 2006 or so.

Each time I leave my shop I see the hundreds of signatures and messages left by all my letterhead friends through the years. Every one carries a special memory. Looking at those pictures brought back even more.

Now as we enter a brand New Year I recite with conviction our often repeated family saying.... 'Next year will be better!' The last year was great as were the years previous. But we wish for and work towards an even better year for ourselves and those we love.

Good memories. Dan, when you flipped over your chair for the remodelling job, was there a Signdog stitter.

You know, Dan, Don might've had a good idea about the motorized wheelchair.

How about using the "guts" (running gear) out of one of them, mounted inside the faux rocket motor housings on your rocke-chair.

Then you could motor about the office at a pretty good clip, without all those nasty kerosene fumes, smoke and fire....and NOISE!

Sounds like a very neat "project".

When the time comes that I need a motorized wheel chair or scooter you can bet it will be the coolest one in all of Yarrow - and maybe even a little further afield than that... Until then I'm perfectly capable of rolling around my office chair.
