Isn't gun control always hitting your target? I have practiced with mine so long that I never miss: I'm so good with it, I don't give my targets a chance to run. I practice shooting at signs.

If you google the topic, it says a variety of things. One site says it was a great success; another says it didn't work out too well.
Regardless, what they don't say, is what I heard a couple of weeks ago on One America News..... even though the murders from guns are down a good bit, the amount of home burglaries, assault and battery, purse snatching, and other personal injury-related crimes has risen dramatically.

The lady in the article uses the phrase "God-given right" to bear arms...I don't remember Jesus brandishing a sword or a spear nor encouraging others to do so...on the other hand what would have been the outcome down in Charlestown S.C. had the pastor brought a gun along with him to Bible study...just asking...seems some middle ground compromises from both sides of the gun debate are long over due.

I think you can change "God-given" to "natural" when you're talking about personal rights. You dont need the God part. You've got a natural right to own a gun or drive a car or smoke or drink or gamble or dance a jig, except the gvmt puts restrictions on some things for the common good. You hear people say, "driving a car is a privilege, which must be earned." BS. They like to think all rights are granted by the gvmt, rather than interfered with. Slave mentality.

Mark, we have a tremendous amount of illegal, stolen and unreported guns in the USA today, that will never be turned in...most of which are in the hands of the bad guys.
And, with all the turmoil going on around the globe with ISIS or related such groups, the main topic of discussion in many media outlets, is for people to arm themselves; get a concealed carry permit, and be prepared.
I don't see a ban passing our legislature....or being accepted by the vast majority of the people.

It's a complicated and dangerous issue...I think Mark is right...also I think Dale is right...I hope that both sides in the US Congress will compromise and come together on something that makes sense and hopefully make some difference.
