It's only a little more than two weeks until the ISA trade show in Las Vegas. I'll be there this year and hanging in the MultiCam booth. I hope to see lots of my friends and meet lots of new folks over the three days. If your feet get tired from walking those long, long isles drop by... we'll have chairs set up.
The MultiCam crew are setting up a mini theater for me to make my presentations and asked us to build some new display pieces. The pieces include a TV stand, a lectern and a display piece. I threw down the idea of making them in the steampunk style and they said YES! So we had some great fun putting the pieces together.

The LED lights are from Heico Lighting in Quebec Canada. The beauty of these little units is that they use electro-magnetic induction to power them meaning there are no wiring connections. Slip the wire through and you are done. There is only one connection at the small transformer pack.
The LEDs are potted meaning they can be immersed in water and still work perfectly.
There is no clear cover over the LEDs I tucked them into a hidden channel which allows them to shine downwards and the light splashes agains the silver painted backdrop.
The small lights at the ends of the robot's arms have modules embedded inside with a tinted plexiglass rod inserted over it for the indicator light.
In the gauges I hollowed out the insides and put the same LED modules inside so they shine light indirectly upwards. In the bubble tube I put an LED at each end. The bubble tubes I found at a gardening centre for five dollars each. They had cheesy and cheap lights inside but I cut off those parts and only kept the tubes. They were side walk lights. The bubbles were cast into the clear acrylic and looked very cool.
I hope this answers your questions.
