I think it was springtime in 2001 when Steve lettered and gilded his leather case in my shop. Sometimes I wish we could start over and just do replay of some of the friendships over the last thirty years.

A touching and well deserved honour for a man that facilitated so many lasting friendships and provided a place for sign people to share and learn. A true leader and inspiration. Case in point, the honouring of Steve's sign bag has now made it possible for so many of those sign folks to have their names appear in the Sign Museum. Long live the Mayor!

Awesome Barb....what a fitting place for 'Steve's computer sign bag' to be displayed at. Hope you are finding some comfort in knowing how much he (and you) have meant to so many. I can't wait to read all the names.

Just looked at this again.. I was suddenly struck with a powerful sense of nostalgia about the almost two decades of being around sign work, and all those names on that computer bag.

Dittos Curtis...I remember that bag well, can't remember if I ever signed it though...hope so. I have a panel that Steve made for me with his alphabet lettered on it, I will always remember him fondly and will treasure that panel as I will treasure all the times we had at many meets. Steve was a treasure himself, a kind, crazy and fun guy, one of the best ppl I knew. So sorry Barb, hugs from us, we love you. A:(
