Does anyone use Reimage Repair to keep their computer running smoothly? I downloaded the program and found numerous problems with my computer -- fixed. Two days later it says it has located 168 errors - fixed. Two days later it says 463 errors? What is going on. Any advise will be helpful. Thanks.

MOST OF THOSE........... so called repair programs are junk!!! they will run on your computer before you buy them, give you crazy numbers on how many problems it finds,........just to scare you into buying them!!!!!!! DONT!!!!!! D/L SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY........ free. there are couple others but i can say the search n destroy works well on most. also if you have AVAST...... it has something similar in it if you want to buy something BUY IT. it has a lot of stuff in the paid version, so you wont have to look at these waco programs.

remove that utility. It is merely feeding you bad info. Eventually it will ask you to pay a fee of some type to fix that bad stuff. There is no real bad stuff on there.
As OP mentioned. Get spybot search and destroy and malware bytes FREE. They will fix you up.

Thanks to all who have commented. I am a gullible person living in a rural area where it is not convenient to have my computer worked on. Thought this looked good.

NORTON IS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!! used to be #1....but like most it got loaded with more garbage. and it is one of those that want full control of the computer....not good........... AVAST anti virus, free, is good. like i said avast has an upgrade, that does a loto other stuff.... DOWN SIDE IS..........to much resourses of the computer get directed to these types of programs. the old saying LESS IS MORE... hold true here. NORTON, MCAFEE, SYMATAC all bloated....best to stay away from em. http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus-2015/3000-2239_4-10019223.html

I agree with Joe about the bloated, resource hogging programs like Norton and McAfee...They used to be fine 15-20 years ago, but no longer. They want to take over.
I happen to use AVG (free version) and it does the job for me. A friend has a multiple user license for the AVG "full featured" program with all the bells and whistles and he allowed me to try it out....After one day of it's silly and unnecessary suggestions, I totally removed it, it was crap.
AND...personally, I have tried Spybot and found that it too seemed to "find" a whole bunch of stuff, like 200-300 "things" every day, that it thought were harmful and after it "removed" them, it found them again within a couple of hours???? Waste of time and resources, in my opinion.
Others will disagree, but that's OK. I just know what works, and doesn't work for me.
(In my experience the biggest problems folks have is when they have mindlessly clicked "OK" or "yes" or "accept" on pop-ups that appear on websites.) Read the fine print first.

Ricardo, I agree with you, I use Norton also and find that it works very well without any intrusion on my system. Contrary to what others have said, Norton has actually been rated one of the best antivirus systems in recent years. Shirley, I would agree that you should not use that program or any others like it, you should just be using a well known antivirus program. If you do some research you'll get plenty of good information and be able to make a wise choice for yourself.

gary, sure it does what it is intended to do........BUT, you buy a newer compter to icrease speed and ability to do work, then you load it with a program that eats up ram and resourses even before you start ANY other program. start your computer, with no other programs running, open TASK MANAGER.hit, CONT, ALT & DEL at the same time, willget you where task manger can be viewed. now open PERFORMANCE. the top one is % of cpu being used, the bottom is ram.....most computers without NORTON/MCAFEE will run 2-5% constant. with these programs..you will see it take 20%-30%.....and its doing this all the time........even when you are working. dont try to render anything))))

AVG, Norton and Mcafee have all become the nemesis of the geek world. Bloated and full of problems. Actually slow down a machine with the overhead.
Geek forums do not use any of them for any reason. If fact Norton had to supply a remover it was so bad.
Geeks like Comodo FREE firewall and Avast FREE for antivirus.
