All things put in perspective, though, he's in a somewhat different area of our profession....kinda like the difference between a good tig welder and a metal sculptor.
I'd like to think that many of us here, are as good at what we specialize in, as he is at what he does....and he is, no doubt, very good!
It's very fortunate that there are still a few of these artisans around to keep this work going.

Well said, Dale...........I agree with you. But, keep in mind, we are not chopped liver here, either.
David is, totally, outstanding........I do not know of anyone else who does what he does.....Never mind that.....Who does it so brilliantly.....The man is a frikin skilled master at his trade.
However, still, I am very happy painting signs......Which, reminds me of that line, which Clint Eastwood said: "A man has to know his limitations"........If there is something I do know about myself, it is the fact that I do know my limitations.

Guys like David Smith are true artisans. They also have created the market for themselves. Everyone has their little niche. And sometimes we go above our niche and get acclamations. Sometimes our work is the dull every day stuff. Those jobs we don't post. lol
But as long as we can make a good and honest living at what we do that's the important thing. And it is good to look at these magnificent artisans to receive inspiration and possibly bring our work up a notch on the ladder of creativity.

Dave Smith is one of my heroes. I admire what he does and greatlyadmire the passion he has for his craft. I believe this passion is what separates Dave from everyone else.
I also believe 'realizing our limits' is a great excuse to settling for where we are.
Dave's video inspires me to do greater things to push my own limits to the horizon.
Thanks for posting Alicia!

Besides his talent and passion for his craft, Dave seems to have embraced the Letterhead tradition of teaching to all who will take the initiative to learn - altruism at its finest....
