All our bags are packed and we're ready to leave.
On Monday, I'll be adding my comments from our home in Mexico.
OP Joe....take a leap of faith and come visit us. Seriously. Hennie included of course.
In fact, anyone else is welcome...Just send me an e-mail and we can work out the details.
Sun, sand, pool, beach and a 4 bedroom house...Can't beat it!!!!!

You are a good saleman Dave- I found a 2bdrm house with orange trees in the yard in Chelem for $65k. My sweetie isn't quite ready for México winters but I would like to try (long ways from my tools/ Shopbot tho).
When you're in Chelem, give us a call. Our Mexican cell number is in my signature. OR maybe we'll meet up at the Bull Pen on a Thursday night.

I didn't quite understand that comment either Dale.
Maybe what Gene meant was that his sweetie isn't ready to commit to spending an entire winter away from home? And I can understand that feeling. We see lots of folks who arrive and after a few weeks or months they get an overwhelming urge to return home because they miss family and friends.
Anymore, for us, Mexico is home and the time we spend in Canada is our summer vacation.

Dale...We feel completely safe and we have been going to the same area for 17 years now. The Yucatan state is generally acknowledged to be the safest in all of Mexico.
Yes we have had our home robbed but it was due to our own negligence in leaving a window unlocked while we were away.
Most of the violence is drug gang related and is more on the west coast and the northern border states.

we lived in sarasota, walking distance to siesta key beachs. from 1992-1998. then we moved to a more "temperate" southern climate....PENSACOLA. now we are 15 minutes from some of the prettiest beaches in the USA. but do like the more milder temp changes here then i did in sarasota. last winter we even had a SNOW DAY))))
