Having trouble scanning metal sign..getting a bluish tint making it difficult to vectorization scanned image..especially the fine detail. What settings should I be using? Thanks in advance to any help. Jim at Coover Signs
Have you tried scanning in greyscale instead of colour? Tried playing with the resolution too?
How about taking a picture of the sign instead of scanning?

I'm not sure what program you are using but in Corel, you can go to Bitmaps>Image Adjustment Lab and make all kinds of changes to contrast and color that can sharpen up an image to allow vectorization. Also, gamma adjustments may help. I always do it on a copy of the bitmap just in case I really mess things up... as usual!
