In about 30 years, I'd like to see what the tattoos will look like. Funny, some people would never think of painting something on their car, but they will permenently put something trendy on their skin. I wish chemists would come up with a tattoo ink that could completely fade away within a few years. It would be great for both the tattooies and the tattooists.

That is exactly why I'm going into tattoo removal- most of the crappy tats will last about as long as a cheap vinyl sign does in our industry. There is big money to be made in correcting mistakes and poor decisions.

I'll bet in 30 years tattoo artists will be replaced by cnc run tattoo machines. It will probably be put on like an ink jet, the ink will seep under the skin so needles will be eliminated, as well as tattoo artists. Sound familiar?

I told my son he should get an image of a beautiful woman tattooed on himself while he is young, that way she'll grow old and wrinkly with him.

I wouldn't really have called it 3D tattooing, more a shaded or photoshop effect if you have to, but I guess "3D" brings in the clients, if that sort of thing is to your liking...

There is a huge difference between tattoo artists as the same goes for sign artists. There are good and bad in everything including taste.
Yet tattoo artists make a hundred an hour and up and you have to be a darn good tatooist to bring in the big bucks..
I received my last tattoo 25 years ago, done by Shotshie Gorman and in full color, still in full color today and never faded and I still love it as it relates to who I am...
The only thing that sucks is the attitude of some people these collectors like myself come in contact with, to each their own, now go back and make signs using your computer and tell yourself over and over how hand work is fading away....
